3Com® WXR100 Remote Office Wireless LAN Switch
|
|
Product Description :
The WXR100 can be configured to provide local
AAA services to keep local wireless services going, even if the WAN link
to the central office fails. The WXR100 can also offload IEEE
802.1X/EAP authentication processing to significantly reduce the WAN
traffic to the central RADIUS servers. WXR100 wireless switches
can be grouped with other 3Com WLAN switches and controllers to form a
single Mobility Domain, sharing a common user database. If a user moves
from one MAP to another within the domain, the user's details are
quickly transferred and the user's session continues uninterrupted. And
by sharing user-specific security policies between other WLAN
controllers and switches, IT staff can consistently enforce user and
group attributes as users roam.
-
Supports up to three Managed Access Points (MAPs): the 3Com
Wireless LAN Managed Access Point 2750 (3CRWX275075A), 3Com Wireless LAN
Managed Access Point 3750 (3CRWX375075A), or 3Com Wireless LAN Access
Point 7250, 8250, 8750 converted to FIT AP mode.
-
PoE capability supplies data and power over Ethernet cabling for
single MAP, eliminating the need for power adapters, power cords or AC
outlets for MAPs
-
Web GUI Quick Start gets the wireless switch online quickly
-
Drop-ship capability allows minimal expertise at remote locations for successful installation and deployment
-
Supports local authentication, or offloading to centralized IEEE
802.1X RADIUS server for enterprise-wide authentication capabilities
-
IEEE 802.1Q VLAN support, IPv4 multicast filtering, IGMP
snooping features and Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) support enable
administrators to effectively segment the network and control traffic
flow, essential for applications such as VoIP
-
Authenticates and encrypts control traffic between the switch and MAPs to enhance WLAN security
