Processor is the brain of the phone and will influence how fast is your smartphone and that fast mean everything from the speed that an application is installed to the speed of your Internet browser. Some of the mobile phone processors are given below:
Snapdragon is a family of mobile system on chips (SoC) by Qualcomm. Qualcomm considers Snapdragon a platform for use in smartphones, tablets, and smartbook devices. The Snapdragon application processor core, dubbed Scorpion, is Qualcomms own design.
Nvidia Tegra is a system-on-a-chip series developed by Nvidia for mobile devices such as smartphones, personal digital assistants, and mobile Internet devices. The Tegra integrates the ARM architecture processor CPU, GPU, northbridge, southbridge, and memory controller onto a single package. The series emphasizes low power consumption and high performance for playing audio and video.
Texas Instruments OMAP(Open Multimedia Application Platform) is a category of proprietary system on chips (SoCs) for portable and mobile multimedia applications developed by Texas Instruments. OMAP devices generally include a general-purpose ARM architecture processor core plus one or more specialized co-processors.
Apple Ax is a package on package (PoP) system-on-a-chip (SoC) designed by Apple and manufactured by Samsung. It combines an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU with a PowerVR GPU, and emphasizes power efficiency.
ii. Memory in Mobile Phones
SIM memory A SIM card memory mainly stores an account identification data, as well as additional information such as phone book entries.
ROM (read-only memory) This type of memory contains the basic operating system of the cell phone. It is non-writ able, which means you cannot add applications or any other software to it.
RAM (random access memory): RAM is a temporary memory used to run applications and programs. The stored data can be accessed in any order.
Flash/internal memory: The internal memory is actually the one to store your programs, messages, contacts, appointments, etc. The amount of internal memory, or flash memory, is usually indicated in the cell phone description.
External memory: This type of memory is easy to use and can be added to the cell phone in any amount available. It is about external flash memory cards, which are inserted in specially provided slots. The most used among the memory cards are MMC, RS MMC, MiniSD cards.

iii. Battery Life in Mobile Phones
Battery life of a mobile phone can be measured in terms given below:
1. Stand-by time
2. Talk time
3. Music playback time
There are four types of batteries available for mobile phones:
1. Nickel Cadmium (NiCd)
2. Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
3. Lithium Ion (Li-ion)
4. Lithium Ion Polymer (Li-Po)
