Hughes Network Systems Americas Introduces Ultra-Fast Satellite Broadband Router DW7000

Hughes Networks Systems Americas (HNSA), recently announced the introduction of the DW7000 family of next-generation satellite broadband routers as the platform for its broadband enterprise services in Brazil.

“The new services that are enabled by the incredibly powerful DW7000 platform take satellite broadband performance to the next level,” said Delio Morais, president of HNSA. “With the industry’s most powerful satellite broadband router and speeds up to six times faster than previous generations, the capabilities are truly unprecedented. As enterprises across Brazil and South America begin to implement the new service plans on the DW7000 platform, they will not only experience superior performance, but will unlock the true value of satellite broadband.”

New service packages are being designed with throughputs of up to 4 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload, including both asymmetrical and symmetrical capabilities. The product caters to the requirement for a range of customers from enterprise, to government, to consumer/small office customers.

The DW7000 product family is compliant with the IPoS standard (IP over Satellite), the first to be approved by the world’s three major standards setting bodies, namely TIA in North America, and ETSI and the ITU in Europe, and is endorsed by Intelsat. The DW7000 family also complies with the DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards for the downlink, which yields downstream throughputs as high as 90Mbps. As a result, the DW7000 gives service providers in the region a great deal of flexibility to readily configure service plans covering a wide range of customer data rate requirements.
