16- and 24-Port Gigabit Switches for Small Businesses Featuring Remote Monitoring and Fiber Expansion by Linksys

Linksys®, a division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and a leading global manufacturer of broadband, wireless, and networking hardware for home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and small business environments, today announced two new switches for small businesses – the 16-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch with WebView (SRW2016) and the 24-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch with WebView (SRW2024).

Both new gigabit switches feature WebView remote monitoring and fiber expansion. WebView lets administrators control their network remotely through a web browser for configuration and monitoring traffic; while fiber expansion options through the two Mini GBIC ports allow administrators to add mini GBIC SFP Transceivers for longer range, high throughput connections to the main network.

The Linksys 16- and 24-port gigabit WebView switches have been designed for small businesses looking for the following:

    1. Simple network configurability and management capabilities
    2. Fast gigabit network speed for the elimination of data “bottlenecks”
    3. Fiber expandability for long range networking
    4. Cost effective solution in migrating the network from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit

Features of the 16 and 24-Port 10/100/100 Gigabit Switches:

  • WebView remote monitoring and configuration via a web browser
  • Two mini GBIC expansion ports for fiber expansion
  • 16 or 24-Port 10/100/1000 full duplex, auto MDI/MDI-X ports for sensing cable type
  • 64 VLAN support, 8 port trunking groups, console port and 802.1p Class of Service (CoS) support
  • 802.3ad link aggregation
  • Port mirroring
  • 802.1x authentication and radius support
  • Telnet support
  • MAC address learning
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Price and Availability
The Linksys 16-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit with WebView (SRW2016) and the 24-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit with WebView (SRW2024) products are available immediately through major distributors, value-added resellers and business solution providers. Estimated street price is $479.99 and $599.99 respectively. $20 and $25 instant rebates are available now through Feb. 28, 2005 to Linksys Partner Connection members.
