CSR's open architecture BlueCore for Bluetooth.

CSR plc (LSE: CSR.L) recently announced that its BlueCore technology was selected by Gennum for its nXZEN Bluetooth Noise Cancelling headset. Gennum chose CSR's BlueCore to deliver Bluetooth wireless connectivity for the nXZEN headset, and CSR's extensive interoperability pre-testing ensures connecting to any mobile phone. The nXZEN is v1.2 Bluetooth qualified, offers 100 hours stand by time as well as 7 hours talk time and is shipping worldwide.

Gennum's headset takes advantage of CSR's low power consumption and open architecture, which can support third party external DSPs such as Gennum's 120 MIPS DSP. Gora Ganguli of  Gennum commented, "When it came to choosing a partner, CSR's BlueLab SDK (Software Development Kit) enabled us to quickly implement an interface to our external DSP." Mr Ganguli continued, "The potential user mode enabled by BlueLab meant that we did not have to retest the Bluetooth stack in order to achieve Bluetooth qualification, allowing us to bring the nXZEN to market in time for last Christmas."

CSR offers a range of standard solutions and technologies for customers designing Bluetooth headsets. CSR's BlueLab SDK allows customers to take these standard solutions and customize them enabling differentiation through innovation.
