Smallest microwave analyzer for mobile use up to 43 GHz

U3771 (31.8 GHz) and U3772 (43 GHz) spectrum analyzers are portable and thus ideal for installing and maintaining microwave link systems in base stations. Due to its low weight and small dimensions, the U3772 is now the smallest microwave analyzer up to 43 GHz on the market. However, both analyzers can also be used in production, for monitoring or servicing radar equipment and systems as well as in radio relay or satellite communications.

The spectrum analyzers have small dimensions and weigh only 6 kg, making them ideal for mobile use. The 16.5 cm high-contrast TFT screen is also of advantage for mobile use. The repetition rate of 15 traces/s and a sweep time of 20 ms make adjustments very easy. To display large level differences, the screen has a logarithmic 100 dB display area. Due to its short warm-up time and its optional battery pack with an operating time of two hours, the instrument is ready for use at any location within a short period of time. Automatic functions such as channel tables at a keystroke, various power measurements or the measurement of harmonics make instrument operation easy even for untrained users.

The instruments are equipped with two switchable RF inputs, making it possible for example, to measure the IF signal at the first RF input (9 kHz to 8 GHz) and the carrier signal at the second RF input (10 MHz to 43 GHz) and to display them together on the color screen. The analyzers are compact in design and also offer high input sensitivity. The U3772 can measure up to -117 dBm at 34 GHz with a resolution bandwidth of 100 Hz and high level accuracy. Up to 8 GHz, an integrated preamplifier is used. Three signal waveforms with a Max/Min Hold function permit convenient drift measurements on oscillators.

U3751 comes with USB, LAN and IEC/IEEE bus interfaces. It is possible to store measurement results and to conveniently process them later on a PC. On the other hand, this instrument can be remote-controlled by either a LAN or IEC/IEEE bus. Since both analyzers are twice as fast as the predecessor model and also cost-efficient, they are exceptionally suitable for use on production lines.

An internal tracking generator up to 3 GHz and a high-precision reference frequency with aging of 2x10-8/day are available as options. The U3771 and U3772 spectrum analyzers from Advantest are now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
