Equipment for MPEG-2 Monitoring and Analysis.

Rohde & Schwarz  R&S DVM50 is designed for monitoring one or two transport streams and can therefore be regarded as the "little brother" of the R&S DVM100, capable of monitoring two to 20 transport streams. The R&S DVM50 provides virtually the full functionality of the R&S DVM100, offering cost-conscious users a viable alternative.

The R&S DVM50 is operated and results are displayed via a clearly arranged graphical user interface on a laptop or PC. The system offers comprehensive monitoring functionality that can be flexibly configured by the user. In addition to the standard parameters of the first, second and third priority defined by the TR 101 290 Measurement Guidelines, numerous other parameters are monitored, including data rates, alterations in the transport stream, conditional access information and specific parameters of single frequency networks.
As far as analysis is concerned, the R&S DVM50 stands out for its wide range of functions offered for data broadcast applications. It also performs analyses of PCR jitter, table contents and packet headers. The R&S DVM50 can handle transport stream data rates up to 214 Mbit/s without any problems both with respect to monitoring and analysis.
Due to a flexible option management, special functions can be enabled at any time by entering a key code, for example the monitoring function for the second transport stream.
The R&S DVM50 is an ideal choice for network operators (satellite, cable and terrestrial), operators of playout centers and system integrators. Its versatile and in-depth analysis functions make it a powerful and flexible measurement and analysis tool also in research and development.
The MPEG-2 Monitoring System R&S DVM50 can now be ordered from Rohde & Schwarz.
