Founded in 1993 Wavesat Inc. have introduced the first generation BWA/OFDM product based on DSP technology called the Tiger modem in 1999. In January 2003, Wavesat produced the single chip modem, the DM110 used in baseband NLOS BWA communications, followed by IEEE 802.16d compliant chip (DM256). The systems use advanced COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing).

The Wavesat offer includes a full suite of building blocks (including PHY, MAC hardware, processors, DACs, ADCs and other integrated elements) to build a wide range of distinctive and cost-effective BWA products, from highly efficient base stations to low power mobile CPE.

Recently, Wavesat sold it RF manufacturing operation to Mitec Canada and has focussed on IEEE standard based BWA industry as a fabless BWA semiconductor company.
